Use fine sandpaper to gently abrade the surface of the paint stain.
Important: Only abrade the paint solids; avoid contact with the carpet fibres to prevent damage.
Step 2: Apply Solvent Spotter
Apply a Solvent Spotter – Stain Remover either via a spray trigger or by dampening a white cotton terry towel.
Work the solvent into the paint stain to emulsify the paint.
Tip: Avoid saturating the carpet fibres with solvent — focus on the stain only.
Step 3: Transfer Stain
Use a clean towel to transfer the emulsified paint from the carpet into the cloth.
Repeat Steps 2–3 as necessary until the paint is fully emulsified and removed.
Step 4: Rinse Extraction
Prepare your rinse solution by mixing WS Stain Repel Rinse at 30ml per 10 litres of clean water in your extraction machine.
Rinse extract the treated area thoroughly to remove all residual solvent and stain residue.
Important: Make slow, controlled wand passes. For every wet pass, follow with at least two dry passes. Maintain uniform, straight passes — avoid zig-zagging to prevent pile distortion or “shark’s teeth,” which can become permanent, especially on wool carpets.
Step 5: Re-Apply Protective Coating
Once the carpet is clean and dry, apply WS Advanced Fabric Stain Protection at a 1:1 dilution.
This provides a long-lasting dirt and hydrophobic barrier, protecting the carpet from future staining.
Application can be done wet or dry depending on your preferred method.
