Note: This is a salvage method. Mineral solvents may cause delamination of the carpet backing or remove glued-down tufts.
Step 1: Apply Solvent Spotter
Apply Solvent Spotter – Stain Remover via a spray trigger or white cotton terry towel.
Emulsify the make-up stain carefully.
The stain will break down and gradually transfer into the towel.
Step 2: Repeat as Required
Repeat Step 1 as necessary until the stain is completely emulsified or transferred out of the carpet fibres.
Step 3: Rinse Extraction
Prepare your rinse solution by mixing High Performance Rinse at 30ml per 10 litres of clean water.
Rinse extract the carpet slowly and methodically using your cleaning wand.
Tip: For every wet pass, follow with at least two dry passes. On polypropylene and polyester carpets, zig-zagging or “shark’s teeth” will not permanently disrupt the pile, but for a professional finish, maintain a uniform pass pattern.
Step 4: Protective Coating
To make future make-up removal easier, apply WS Advanced Fabric Stain Protection at 1:1 dilution.
This provides a long-lasting dirt and hydrophobic barrier and can be applied wet or dry.
