BrightChem wasn’t built in a boardroom — it was born from real experience, hard work, and a simple spark of curiosity.For years, I worked full-time as an engineering manager, while Jena kept everything running as an office administrator and Health & Safety manager. After nearly a decade of looking out the same office window, Jena decided she wanted something different. When we hired a carpet cleaning professional one day, she turned to me and said, “I want to do that.”
The very next day, we invested in our first set of professional carpet cleaning equipment from Clean Smart and booked training with Clean Smart and the NCCA. What began as a leap of faith quickly grew into a thriving cleaning business. Within a short time, we went from one van to three, working with both residential and large commercial clients.
The cost of cleaning chemicals was eye-watering.
The formulas were inconsistent — sometimes they worked, sometimes not at all.
The commercial side of our business grew quickly, sparked by a single client who reached out simply because we were NCCA registered. That one call opened the door to regular contracts, and before long we were working with large commercial sites and expanding our services faster than we ever expected.But along the way, we noticed two big challenges:
